Michigan football suffered a string of misses in the 2024 class recently, but could still have a shot with four-star offensive tackle Bennett Warren.

It’s clear that Michigan football is hoping to add more offensive tackle talent in the 2024 class, which is especially true after the Wolverines missed on Michael Uini last week.

Uini was projected by some experts to Michigan football before Georgia swooped in and landed his commitment in the end.

However, another four-star offensive tackle in the 247 Sports composite rankings is very much in play for the Wolverines and that’s Bennett Warren.

Warren is 6-foot-7, 330 pounds, and ranked No. 142 overall in the 2024 recruiting class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s out of Sugar Land, Texas, and has also gotten some crystal balls to Texas A&M.

Michigan football is still in a good spot

According to Steve Lorenz of The Michigan Insider, Michigan football is still firmly in the mix for Warren. He also said the team to watch out for is Tennessee.

Warren took his final official visit to see the Volunteers. There haven’t been any expert projections yet but it’s always worrisome when Michigan is battling SEC teams.

We all know the NIL factor is much different, especially with Tennessee. However, the On3 prediction machine gives Michigan football an 80-percent chance to land Warren currently, while three crystal balls are in favor of the Wolverines.

Steve Lorenz still has his crystal ball on Michigan football, as do Brice Marich and also Steve Wiltfong. It would be nice if Michigan was able to get Warren back on campus for the recruiting BBQ at the end of July.

That would raise my confidence level. It’s hard to know when a commitment might happen right now and with five offensive linemen committed already, it’s not like Warren is essential.

The Wolverines already have two offensive tackles committed that are ranked in the top 200 overall in Andrew Sprague (148 overall) and Blake Frazier (173 overall).

Next. Assembling the all-time Lloyd Carr team. dark

But you can never have enough talent on the offensive line and Warren is still a name for Michigan football fans to watch going forward in the 2024 class.
