Michigan football all-time Lloyd Carr team, Specialists: Steve Breaston (Returner), Hayden Epstein (Punter), Garrett Rivas (Kicker)

Steve Breaston was a guy I considered for the wide receiver spot and probably could have made an exception for him since he was such a versatile weapon.

Breaston is sixth all-time in Michigan history with 156 receptions. Beyond that, he’s Michigan football’s career leader in punt and kickoff return yards.

Throughout his career, Breaston went over 200 all-purpose yards on 10 different occasions. In the Rose Bowl against Texas, he had over 300 total yards with 221 coming on kickoff return yards.

Garrett Rivas did own the scoring record until Jake Moody broke it in 2022. He was money from 2003-06 and earned First-Team All-Big Ten honors in 2006. Hayden Epstein punted and kicked at times during his Michigan football career and was a national award finalist in both.

Epstein made 26 of 42 field goal attempts and had 50 punts downed inside the 20 yard-line. He also made 83-of-88 extra-point attempts.
