What’s next for Michigan at EDGE?

The Wolverines took three EDGE prospects in 2023 and that could be the number that they land on in 2024 although Jacob Smith is still out there and trending with projections to the Wolverines, so hopefully he will follow suit with a commitment soon.

Nichols, Baxter, and Rudolph are all guys that I like. But they are also sort of unproven, especially Nichols who had just two sacks last season.

The potential is there with all of these guys. It’s going to be up to Michigan football to get the most out of them, but the D-line development has been off the charts, especially since Elston took over.

Michigan football loves those long athletes. Ben Herbert is an expert at strength training to help those guys get ready for the next level. Rudolph is obviously going to need to add 20-30 pounds at least but I don’t see that as an issue.

The Wolverines also have a strong pipeline of talent, so these guys shouldn’t need to contribute right away. Just a reminder too that Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant were both ranked outside the top 500 overall when Michigan football won their commitments.

Next. Assembling the all-time Lloyd Carr team. dark

Rankings aren’t everything. The Wolverines have three talented players at EDGE in 2024 and could be adding a fourth, which would give them essentially four in the top 500.
