Another blue-chipper

Michigan football isn’t recruiting at the same level as Ohio State and Sunday was a reminder of that as the Buckeyes have landed four five-star prospects and could be getting another soon.

Jadyn Davis is now ranked 54th overall in the 2024 class, so Michigan doesn’t have any five stars in the composite rankings. U-M does have three top-100 commitments and a blue-chip ratio of 68 percent (17/25) so the Wolverines are doing enough to continue their winning ways over the past two seasons.

However, it’s going to be hard to keep up with Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio State if the Wolverines aren’t able to win many head-to-head battles. All three teams won head-to-head battles this weekend with Michigan, which is a reminder NIL isn’t where it needs to be.

That’s probably not the only deciding factor, however, it’s hard to land five-star recruits if you don’t have some sort of guaranteed NIL in place. It’s just a reality.
