There are lots of unknowns with Michigan football cornerback recruiting in the 2024 class and here’s the latest.

Michigan football has put together a stellar 2024 recruiting class. The Wolverines ranked third overall according to the 247 Sports team rankings and have 15 blue-chip commitments.

The 15th was from Jeremiah Beasley on Wednesday. The four-star linebacker was a really nice pickup, especially since it was another dunk over Sparty.

Michigan football is still looking for some offensive line help, especially after a negative trend with a top target, as well as more EDGE commitments, which should be coming soon.

However, there’s still a question about the cornerback position. Michigan football doesn’t have any players committed there yet and just missed out on Bryce West.

A number of targets are expected to announce their decisions soon. Four-star cornerback Aaron Scott is a top-100 prospect according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He just visited Michigan football and Ohio State.

According to EJ Holland, this recruitment is still 50/50 between the Wolverines and Buckeyes. Even Charles Woodson got involved in recruiting on social media.

Scott is expected to commit early in July. He has said he could push it back to later in the month if needed, so we’ll see.

The other cornerback targets that will decide sooner are Jameer Grimsley and Terhyon Nichols. Nichols will be making his announcement on Sunday. Grimsley will make his decision known on Saturday.

All three cornerbacks are somewhat foggy

Kentucky has emerged as the leader according to the On3 recruiting prediction machine and the Wildcats have gotten some expert projections.

That’s not a great sign but there isn’t a huge trend at this point, so I wouldn’t give up hope just yet. Grimsley included Michigan football in his top three with Alabama and Florida.

It feels like Alabama is the biggest threat to Michigan, which hosted Grimsley for an official visit last week, along with Nichols.

Michigan football could land both. It could also miss on both — it’s just hard to read right now. The same could be said for Scott.
