Another win over Sparty

Michigan football has out-recruited Michigan State ever since Mel Tucker took over and that’s not going to change.

The Spartans had the edge with Beasley, but once Michigan football made him a priority, it was pretty much a done deal.

Michigan State is trending to land the No. 3 player in the state in 2024 in Nick Marsh. But Michigan football has landed three of the top-six players in the state.

CJ Carr went to Notre Dame, but I think the Wolverines preferred Jadyn Davis anyway. I’m not sure why Michigan hasn’t gotten more involved with Marsh, but there’s no doubt that the Wolverines are still the top recruiting power in the state and it’s not close.

Mel Tucker talked a big game and held a lot of flashy official visits in the 2022 cycle. Yet, in the end, the Spartans’ recruiting classes pale in comparison to Michigan, Penn State, and Ohio State.

The fact that the Wolverines got a win in Belleville — where Bryce Underwood plays — is also good news. There used to be some issues between Jim Harbaugh and the old Belleville head coach, but it seems that won’t hinder the Wolverines anymore.
