There’s no doubt that the Michigan basketball program will look much different this upcoming season. Following a disappointing season where Michigan missed the NCAA Tournament, the team hemorrhaged a significant part of its talent, losing Hunter Dickinson to Kansas and seeing Kobe Bufkin and Jett Howard head for the NBA Draft.

Fortunately, that’s in the past and there’s an exciting crop of talent in Ann Arbor for the Wolverines this upcoming season, which will be Juwan Howard’s fifth as the program’s head coach. This season could be a chance for Michigan to fly under the radar, as they won’t be widely picked as a preseason favorite in the Big Ten.

We’re still several months away from the beginning of the new basketball season, as Howard and his crew continue to finalize both the roster and the upcoming schedule. Their conference schedule has been somewhat configured, though we don’t exactly know all the details of Michigan’s nonconference opponents.

When will Michigan basketball begin the 2023-24 season?

We do know that the Michigan basketball season will begin on November 3rd, though the Wolverines have yet to announce an opponent for that night. Their first currently scheduled game is November 7th at home against UNC Asheville, followed by a tilt with Youngstown State on Nov. 10.

It’s exciting to see what these new-look Wolverines will look like next season, but we’ve still got a few months to wait until basketball’s time in the spotlight. We know that the Wolverines have road games at St. John’s and Oregon and will play in the Paradise Island Jam, but many details are still being worked out about their schedule.

Just over four months remain until the basketball season starts, are you excited to see what Michigan basketball will do this year?
