Aaron Scott just concluded his official visit at Michigan

An eventful week of recruiting for Michigan football is only becoming more eventful. The next six days could be make or break for the Wolverines in the recruitment of elite cornerback Aaron Scott.

Ranked as the #1 player in the state of Ohio, Scott would be a tremendous steal for the Wolverines, one that would strike fear into the souls of every Buckeye fan.

Scott visited Michigan football this past weekend for Victors weekend, and all indications are that it went as well as it possibly could have.

While the Wolverines did not get Bryce West to join Scott on campus as I had hoped for, Scott was surrounded by commits doing everything they could to make Scott feel at home. What’s especially notable is that the Ohio commits were there.

Jordan Marshall and co ensured that Scott didn’t feel like an outsider, and you’ve got to imagine that being around his Ohio boys was a big plus. In fact, it’s very possible that Michigan has the lead right now. There’s only one problem: Scott visits Ohio State next weekend.

The Buckeyes will get the last visit for Scott, and they’ll be hosting a slew of elite recruits, including fellow Michigan football target Bryce West. Scott is expected to announce a decision shortly after the Ohio State visit, which is terrifying if you’re a Michigan fan.

With that said, here’s my opinion on all of this. Michigan leads for Scott at this moment. That doesn’t matter, I believe that Ohio State, unless they screw up badly on his visit, will take the lead back. After that, it’ll be up to the Michigan coaching staff to retake momentum.

If Scott commits shortly after his visit, my bet is it will be Ohio State. I have a terrible feeling that he and Bryce West will do a joint commitment. Nonetheless, it doesn’t matter. This recruitment is going to come down to November 25th.

This recruitment could come to Michigan football-Ohio State game

I wholeheartedly believe that regardless of what happens in the coming weeks, if Michigan football defeats Ohio State yet again, some Ohio recruits are going to jump ship. Scott included. Considering there’s a real chance that Ryan Day gets canned if he loses again, Michigan could stand to benefit tremendously on the recruiting trail if they beat the Buckeyes.

This recruitment will not end any time soon. This one will likely go to National Signing Day. I feel very good about where the Wolverines stand right now, but they still have a lot of work to do if they want to win over Scott for good.
