Future Michigan football quarterback Jadyn Davis stood out in the Elite 11 on Wednesday, plus a new quarterback offer in 2025 and more Michigan Wolverines news.

Michigan football recruiting fans have been looking forward to the Elite 11 competition to see how future Michigan Wolverines QB Jadyn Davis would hold up.

Davis recently saw his ranking drop in the 247 Sports composite rankings from a five-star down to a four-star recruit. He’s still ranked 35th overall in the 2024 class, as well as fourth among quarterbacks, but still, it would be fun to see him have an outstanding week.

Of course, it’s hard to judge exactly how things went. You have reporters from 247 Sports and On3 reporting different winners, so it’s subjective. 247 Sports rated Dylan Raiola as the top quarterback on Wednesday night, with Davis slotting in fifth. Here’s what Andrew Ivins of 247 Sports said about his opening performance:

"“Davis arrived in Los Angeles hoping to remind everyone that he can spin it. He did just that as he was accurate and played with a sense of urgency. Davis was one of the best when it came to trying to attack the short to intermediate parts of the field.”"

The Michigan Wolverines’ commitment in the 2024 class ranked behind Air Noland of Ohio State. Charles Power of On3.com didn’t have much favorable to say about Davis and didn’t include him in his top 10. Yet, he also had Dylan Raiola as No. 8.

We’ll see how things develop in the coming days. Yet, as I said earlier this week, all this stuff in shorts, doesn’t really matter. Michigan football found its future starting quarterback in Jadyn Davis and he’s going to be great, regardless of what the rankings say.

A new 2025 QB offer for Michigan football

The Michigan Wolverines continue to expand their quarterback board in the 2025 class as they extended an offer to four-star Tavien St. Clair on Wednesday.

St. Clair is thought to be an Ohio State lean. The Buckeyes have two crystal ball projections already for the 2025 QB out of Bellefontaine, Ohio. He’s ranked as the No. 337 player overall in the 2025 class via the 247 Sports composite rankings, as well as 10th among quarterbacks.

Michigan football has been focused on Brice Underwood, the top player/quarterback in the entire 2025 class. Yet, the Wolverines have been actively recruiting other quarterbacks too.

You can now add St. Clair to the list, although if I’m being honest if he committed to Ohio State, it might make the pursuit of Underwood even easier for Michigan football in the long run.

Another highly-touted QB was back on campus for Michigan Wolverines

Speaking of 2025 quarterback recruiting, Ryan Montgomery has been a fixture for Michigan football. He’s also from the state of Ohio and is a four-star QB.

Montgomery has visited Michigan football nearly 10 times now. He took part in a camp in Ann Arbor on Wednesday. I’d say that outside of Underwood, he might be the second guy on my quarterback wishlist for 2025.

So with Underwood and Montgomery, who have each taken numerous visits this spring/summer to Michigan football, I feel good about where things stand with QB recruiting, which is a credit to Kirk Campbell, who has done an incredible job as quarterbacks coach so far.
