Michigan Football poised for another 2024 commitment on Monday

Another 2024 Michigan football recruiting target will announce a decision on Monday as Jaden Smith is likely to commit to the Wolverines. 

The momentum for Michigan football on the recruiting trail right now is palpable and the Wolverines are now poised to land another 2024 commitment on Monday.

Michigan football hosted double-digit recruits over the weekend for official visits and by all accounts, the Wolverines knocked it out of the park.

Three-star defensive lineman Owen Wafle already committed on Sunday, which completed a flip for Michigan football of a former Notre Dame pledge.

The Wolverines also started trending with expert projections for a number of 2024 recruits. Another recruit that Michigan football has been trending in the right direction four is three-star defender Jaden Smith.

Smith isn’t ranked right now via the 247 Sports composite rankings, but he’s been trending up as a 2024 recruit. Michigan football offered the 6-foot-3 195-pound athlete who has the ability to be a safety or even a linebacker.

While not a teammate of Jadyn Davis, Smith is also from Charlotte, where Michigan football has had a bigger presence in 2024 with the addition of Channing Goodwin and Davis. They are also involved with top 2025 recruit David Sanders and 2024 target Jordan Shipp.

Smith just took an official visit to Virginia Tech over the weekend. A trip to Kentucky is on the books for this weekend, but we’ll see if that happens after Smith posted on Twitter that he will be announcing his commitment on Monday afternoon.

Michigan football is in a good position

Michigan football offered Smith on May 12th. The Wolverines also hosted him for an unofficial visit earlier in June and have an official visit scheduled for June 23rd.

All six crystal ball projections from 247 Sports have Smith committing to Michigan. The On3 prediciton machine also gives the Wolverines a 91-percent chance to win his commitment with Virginia Tech and Kentucky also in the top three.

The Wolverines have 18 verbal commitments in the 2024 class right now and it seems like Davis will become No. 19 this afternoon.
