Michigan football has picked up a commitment on Sunday, as well as a number of crystal ball projections after a big recruiting weekend.

We’ll have to wait and see how many commitments come out of this weekend for Michigan football, but the Wolverines have landed one so far and are trending for a bunch more.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Boo Carter, Justin Scott, Bryce West, and others like Bennett Warren. Of the four recruits I just mentioned, Warren is the only one that has received any expert projections this weekend.

Warren is 6-foot-7, 330 pounds, and is ranked 175th overall in the 2024 class. He’s out of Sugar, Land, Texas. Texas A&M and a number of heavy hitters are involved, but Michigan football has grabbed the lead according to the latest expert projections and crystal balls.

However, it’s clear that Michigan football made positive impressions on recruits like five-star Justin Scott, five-star wideout Ryan Wingo, Carter, and West, a top-100 cornerback out of the state of Ohio.

There aren’t any new predictions or trends for any of them. At least at this point. But they all posted a lot of positive things on social media. EJ Holland of The Wolverine hinted at some positive signs for each of them.

I’ve always thought Scott and Wingo were going to be tough, especially Wingo. Michigan football doesn’t really have a reputation for throwing the ball a ton and he seems headed to Georgia.

Scott could be a different story though. Notre Dame has felt like the leader, as well as Miami and Georgia recently. It feels like there is a way to go.

Boo Carter will decide this week after visiting Michigan football. I’Marion Stewart is expected to do the same. All of the crystal ball projections and expert projections from On3 have Stewart going to Michigan at this point, and this visit doesn’t seem to have hurt the Wolverines’ chances at all.

Carter has been projected to Tennessee. We’ll see if Michigan football did enough to beat the in-state Vols, but the Wolverines sure seemed to make things interesting. Jacob Oden spent time with Carter and West and Oden, a Michigan commitment, tweeted good things all weekend.

The Wolverines helped themselves. We’ll know how much very soon, at least with Carter.

Some new expert projections

Elias Rudolph, a four-star EDGE in the 2024 class, has already started to trend with expert picks for Michigan football, including from EJ Holland. Dominic Nichols has also gotten new expert picks and a crystal ball despite his recent visit to Wisconsin.

The Wolverines have a 2-1 crystal ball advantage with Nichols, another EDGE in the 2024 class. Last but not least, David Palepale, a three-star defensive tackle, also got a new crystal ball for Michigan football on Sunday after his visit.

The On3 prediction machine also has the Wolverines as the heavy favorite. So coming out of this weekend, Michigan landed three-star D-line Owen Wafle, and has been projected to land Nichols, Rudolph, Palepale, Stewart, and Warren, plus other recent projections for three-star running back Micah Ka’apana.

As I said, we won’t know how successful this weekend was right away for U-M, but the staff made some inroads and the month of June is looking incredibly good right now.
