The Wolverines yet again have tons of momentum on the recruiting trail… who is most likely to commit?

Official visit season is now in full swing for Michigan football and others. After hosting just four 2024 recruits in the first weekend of June, the Wolverines will now be hosting double-digit 2024 recruits, including a few big names who could commit very soon.

The Wolverines currently have the #2 recruiting class in the country and are poised to continue their momentum. While the first weekend of visits didn’t yield any commitments (yet), I do expect the second weekend to bring at least one commitment.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at some commitment candidates for Michigan football heading into this weekend of official visits.

4 Star OL Bennett Warren

The 6’8 330 lb behemoth is scheduled to be on campus this upcoming weekend, and Michigan is trending in the right direction for Warren. Ranked as the #85 player in the class per 247 Sports, Warren would be a phenomenal addition for Sherrone Moore and co.

The Wolverines received a crystal ball for Warren recently, and all signs point to them looking to close on the visit. It is worth noting that Warren has visits scheduled to Oklahoma (June 16th) and Tennessee (June 23rd), but we’ve seen Michigan football visits cause players to cancel their other visits.

Warren would be the second Texas offensive lineman in the class if he were to commit, joining four-star legacy recruit Blake Frazier. Michigan football is making inroads in the state of Texas, and stealing Warren would be a massive win for the Wolverines.

4-star WR I’Marion Stewart

Stewart is the most likely to commit, hands down. The four-star from Illinois has been a strong Michigan lean for as long as anyone can remember. Recently, Stewart announced a commitment date of June 16th and moved his Michigan football visit to this upcoming weekend.

This means that, if there was any doubt, to begin with, the Wolverines will have the final say in Stewart’s recruitment. This is about as straightforward as they get. If Stewart were to commit anywhere else, it would be a massive shock.

I expect the Wolverines to earn a silent commitment on his visit, followed by an official commitment on Friday the 16th.
