Michigan Football: New crystal balls for a transfer and 2024 recruit

Michigan football has now been projected to land transfer cornerback Josh Wallace, as well as 2024 offensive tackle Bennett Warren. 

The positive momentum continues to build for Michigan football on the recruiting trail and on Monday night, the Wolverines picked up more crystal ball projections for the 2024 class, as well as transfer portal target Josh Wallace.

Wallace visited over the weekend and the former UMass cornerback would be a solid addition. Virginia Tech and Oklahoma are both in the mix. Penn State showed some interest as well.

However, Don Brown, the former Michigan football DC, is the head coach and there are several coaches on the UMass staff with ties to the Wolverines.

Wallace is 6-foot-1 and he was a really productive player for the Minutemen. He only two intercepted two passes over the past two seasons but had 32 solo tackles in each season, as well as a combined 20 pass breakups.

Steve Lorenz of The Michigan Insider put in a crystal ball projection on Monday for the Wolverines. If that proves to be true, it will help shore up the cornerback depth chart. It could also be the answer to the question, who is starting opposite Will Johnson?

I’d expect a decision one way or the other shortly.

Another massive crystal ball for Michigan football in 2024

In terms of the 2024 recruiting class, the Wolverines got another really good sign as Lorenz also put in a crystal ball projection for Michigan football to land offensive tackle Bennett Warren.

Warren is nearly 6-foot-8 and 330 pounds. He’s ranked 175th overall in the 2024 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. In 247 Sports’ own rankings, Warren ranks in the top 100, and landing the prospect out of Sugar Land, Texas, would be huge.

The offensive line haul has already been impressive, but if Sherrone Moore is able to land the mammoth offensive tackle from Texas, you’d have to give this group near-perfect marks.

Warren is expected to take his official visit this weekend, so the crystal ball ahead of that trip is interesting and leads you to believe Michigan football might be able to close out a commitment.

With the way things have gone this cycle, it wouldn’t be unexpected.
