In our latest Michigan Wolverines news roundup, there’s a positive update for Michigan baskeball with Olivier Nkamhoua, plus much more.

When it comes to Michigan baskeball transfer target, Olivier Nkamhoua,  one of the top players in the transfer portal, it appears the recruitment is finally coming to a close and we should have a decision this week.

The former Tennessee graduate that scored 27 points in a second-round NCAA tournament win over Duke last year, finally visited the Michigan Wolverines on Friday after taking trips to West Virginia, and Kansas State last weekend.

Nkamhoua is expected to visit Baylor. Then he’ll decide but it seems like Michigan basketball is trending up as the leader. Trilly Donovan indicated the Wolverines had taken over the top spot along with West Virginia.

I’d say it’s a tenuous lead at best. Michigan basketball was always going to have an ideal role to sell Nkamhoua, plus the idea of helping him develop for the NBA, which isn’t an abstract concept for the Wolverines who have sent a bunch of forwards to the NBA in recent years.

Davis Moseley of The Michigan Insider reported that the Wolverines “find themselves in a good spot” heading into a Monday or Tuesday decision. Hopefully, Michigan can seal the deal because Nkamhoua is an elite defender and could easily be U-M’s leading scorer.

Stay tuned.

Michigan basketball hosts 5-star center in 2024 class

Flory Bidunga, a five-star center from the 2024 class visited Michigan basketball over the weekend. There has been talk about his re-classifying to the 2023 class and the Wolverines should have a decent shot of landing him.

Cincinnati is heavily in the mix and has already received a crystal ball projection. But Juwan Howard has a way with big men, so you never know. Bidunga also took an official visit to Kansas last month, so there is plenty of competition.

But that’s to be expected when you are ranked third overall, which he is in the 2024 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
