3. There are still other options

Things happen quickly in the transfer portal and a new name has emerged for Michigan basketball fans to watch and that’s Antonio Reeves.

Reeves transferred to Kentucky last and was dynamic, scoring 14 points per game and shooting 39 percent from beyond the arc. He also hit 2.4 triples per game.

The former Illinois State star, who averaged 20 points a game during the 2021-22 season, declared for the NBA draft but withdrew his name from consideration. Now, there are rumors that he could enter the transfer portal.

He could also return to Kentucky but Davis Moseley of The Michigan Insider reported that if Reeves does enter the transfer portal, Michigan basketball will be a major player.

It would be a perfect fit. Michigan needs a high-usage guard and Reeves could be that. He’s shot 39 percent from deep in each of the past two seasons and is also 6-foot-4. He’d be an ideal lineup fit and might be the best replacement for Caleb Love out there.

The competition won’t be easy, just like for Pullin and Nkamhoua. However, it’s good to remember there are plenty of other options out there, especially now that the NBA draft withdrawal deadline has come and gone.

This weekend is important and it would be great to have commitments from Pullin and Nkamhoua lined up in the next few days. Yet, even if the opposite occurs, there are options, even if they are running out.
