Michigan football offered a new 2025 quarterback on Thursday, plus more in our latest Michigan Wolverines news roundup.

The Michigan football program is getting set for a big recruiting weekend with a number of top targets in the 2024 class about to be on campus for official visits.

However, there was a bit of 2025 Michigan football recruiting news as the Michigan Wolverines hosted a 2025 quarterback Husan Longstreet on Wednesday.

We talked about this unofficial visit earlier in the week. Still, after the four-star quarterback made it to campus and threw for coaches, Michigan football extended an offer, officially putting another QB on the board for the Michigan Wolverines in the 2025 class.

Longstreet is 6-foot-2, 187 pounds, and is a really exciting prospect out of California. He’s a dynamic athlete who’s got a really strong arm and all the physical tools.

Bryce Underwood is still the top quarterback on the board for the Michigan Wolverines in the 2025 class, but Longstreet is ranked 148th overall and has a chance to be in the top 100 before it’s all said and done. His upside is huge and it’s smart for Michigan football to get involved.

Michigan Football 2023 College Football Playoff odds updated

DraftKings updated its 2023 College Football Playoff odds earlier this week and the Michigan Wolverines are sitting third right now behind Georgia and Ohio State.

Alabama is fourth right now and you know that Michigan football fans won’t like the fact that Ohio State has slightly better odds, but who cares?

The Michigan Wolverines are the two-time defending Big Ten champs until someone proves otherwise. It’s just interesting to compare Michigan football’s preseason expectations to where things were at prior to the 2021 campaign.

More Michigan Wolverines news

  • It was clear prior to Aaron Scott releasing his top five that Michigan football was in the mix for the top-100 cornerback out of Ohio, yet the 4-star included the Michigan Wolverines in his final five on Thursday along with Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, and Tennessee.
  • Former Michigan Wolverines standout Duncan Robinson had a rough night for the Miami Heat, who were defeated 104-93 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. Robinson went 1-of-6 from the field and scored three points in 21 minutes played. Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday night.
