5. Indiana

Mackenzie Mgbako will be a household name a year from now. He has lottery pick potential for the Hoosiers in the 2024 draft. He is the frontrunner for Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2024. A bevy of analysts are very high on Kel’el Ware, a transfer from Oregon too. 247sports.com says the Hoosiers are the highest-rated school in the portal rankings because of Ware.

4. Illinois

Coleman Hawkins and Terrance Shannon dissed the league to go back to Champagne. Toledo transfer RayJ Dennis will almost certainly look elsewhere now that Shannon is back in the mix.

3. Wisconsin

The Badgers return almost everybody important to their rotation and made the deepest run in the NIT tournament last year. They are a legit Big Ten title contender.

2. Michigan State

From another sweet 16 to being a number one seed in Joe Lunardi’s way to early 2024 bracketology. Tom Izzo desperately wants one more championship in East Lansing. Xavier Booker is a five-star, top-25 type recruit joining them.

1. Purdue

I’m only putting Purdue first because they are the defending champions. Michigan State, Wisconsin, and others will have a great shot to dethrone them in 2024, but they won’t regress that much.
