Michigan Wolverines news: Jadyn Davis talks decision, a big month looms for recruiting, and more
In our latest Michigan Wolverines news roundup, Jadyn Davis talks about his commitment to Michigan football, a huge month of visitors ahead, and more.
Traditionally, the summer months have been a pretty fertile time for the Michigan football program and it looks like that could be true again.
The calendar is about to flip to the month of June, which means the first big official visit weekend is coming up and the Wolverines have a ton of blue-chip prospects headed to Ann Arbor.
Michigan football already has 17 commitments in the 2024 class and a bunch of players considered to be Wolverine leans will be on campus this month including Jeremiah Beasley, Aaron Chiles, Jacob Smith, and many more.
In all, there are over 30 official visits Michigan football will host over the next month. On this first weekend, Jacob and Jerod Smith will visit, along with four-star EDGE Brian Robinson and four-star safety target Marquis Gallegos.
What’s even more exciting is that top-100 prospects such as Justin Scott, Gatlin Bair, Ryan Wingo, Bryce West, Taylor Tatum, and Aaron Scott will all be on campus too over the next month, giving the Michigan Wolverines a chance to keep building on an elite recruiting haul in 2024.
Jadyn Davis talks commitment to Michigan football
In a recent interview with 247 Sports, the five-star quarterback goes in-depth on his decision to commit to the Michigan Wolverines and said it went down to the wire.
"“Contrary to popular belief, I didn’t decide on Michigan until late,” Davis said. “I knew what people were saying and everyone was wondering why I hadn’t committed already but I honestly didn’t decide on Michigan until right before I announced my decision.”"
The five-star quarterback also said that his decision ultimately came down to playing for Michigan football or arch-rival Ohio State.
"“That’s another thing that I don’t think everyone knew but contrary to what was being said, it was Michigan and Ohio State in the end,” Davis said to 247 Sports. “North Carolina was in there too and Clemson made a push but It was Michigan-Ohio State and it was tough. I’m really satisfied with my decision though, I feel great about it. It’s a great opportunity for me and I’m exited to get up there and help the program do great things.”"
I’m just glad that Davis made the right choice and I can’t wait to see him starting games for the Michigan Wolverines, which could be as early as 2024 depending on how it all works out.
