Michigan Football hosting a new 2025 QB target this week
Michigan football is focused on Bryce Underwood in the 2025 class at quarterback but another 2025 quarterback is visiting campus on Wednesday.
When it comes to quarterback recruiting in the 2025 class, Michigan football seems to be in a pretty good spot.
For one, they are right in the thick of things with five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, who is ranked as the No. 1 player in the 247 Sports composite rankings for the 2025 class.
The signal-caller out of Belleville has made several visits to Michigan football this spring. Ohio State and many others are firmly involved.
However, the Wolverines have done a really good job, and new quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell has built a strong rapport with the elite quarterback.
Michigan football hosting another 2025 quarterback
The Wolverines are approaching quarterback recruiting a little differently than in previous cycles. Michigan football isn’t putting all of its eggs in one basket anymore.
U-M was actively recruiting Cutter Boley until he committed to Kentucky and started talking about re-classifying which he ultimately did. Michigan football has also hosted four-star quarterback Ryan Montgomery for a bunch of visits, as well as George MacIntyre.
Yet, there is another name for Michigan football fans to know at the quarterback position for the 2025 class and that’s Husan Longstreet.
Longstreet is a four-star quarterback that is ranked No. 151 overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s athletic and played defensive back for his high school last season, but is also eighth among QB in this class.
At 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, 247 Sports is even higher on him in their own ranking as he is third among quarterbacks and 48th overall.
Watching his highlights — the arm talent is easy to see. Longstreet throws the ball on a rope and pushes it downfield with ease. He’s also got a wide-open recruitment that’s starting to heat up.
Longstreet is one of the fastest-rising prospects in the 2025 class and will also be visiting Michigan football this week. That comes on the heels of a visit to Ohio State on Tuesday, as well as a trip to LSU later this week.
Out of Corona, California, the offer sheet doesn’t include an offer from the Wolverines or Ohio State, yet. But Oregon is in the mix, along with Washington, Miami, Florida State, Ole Miss, BYU, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, and a number of other programs.
We’ll see what happens after the visit and if Michigan football jumps in the mix with an offer.
