In our Michigan Wolverines news roundup, Duncan Robinson, a former Michigan basketball player faces a Game 7 with the Heat, plus more.

It looked like the Miami Heat, with the help of former Michigan basketball player Duncan Robinson, were going to cruise past the Boston Celtics into the NBA Finals.

Yet, after taking a 3-0 lead, the Heat lost to the Celtics in heartbreaking fashion on Saturday, which has forced a Game 7 in Boston at 6:30 PM EST.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I tend to cheer for former Michigan Wolverines in the NBA more than I do for a particular team (also because my team stinks).

So, I’ll be watching to see if Duncan Robinson can help Miami reach the NBA Finals for the second time in four years. The former Michigan basketball standout and Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year has been solid in the East Finals, averaging 11.7 points and shooting 46 percent from 3-point range.

Robinson has made 13 triples in the series and is averaging more than two assists per game in just 18 minutes per game.

It will be interesting to see what his role is tonight, but if Miami is going to win, it could use a hot shooting night from the sharpshooter who buried a lot of daggers over the years for the Michigan Wolverines.

Michigan basketball transfer target takes another visit

Michigan basketball fans, at least the ones that have been following the recruitment of Olivier Nkamhoua, were on pins and needles wondering if a commitment would come to West Virginia or if Nkamhoua would still take his official visit to Michigan scheduled for the weekend.

Well, Nkamhoua left Morgantown without pledging to the Mountaineers, which was positive but then took a visit to Kansas State, which wasn’t even on the radar.

It’s hard to say where Michigan basketball stands right now. The Michigan Wolverines were thought to be the leader multiple times and my thought is that if Nkamhoua makes his visit, they will be in a solid position to land him, once and for all.

Happy Memorial Day to Michigan Wolverines fans!

Happy Memorial Day, everyone. It’s a solemn day for Americans as we celebrate the men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
