Michigan football is projected to land a new 2024 recruit, plus a schedule update and more in our Michigan Wolverines news roundup.

Michigan football just picked up its 17th commitment last Friday in the 2024 recruiting class, landing three-star linebacker Cole Sullivan and it doesn’t seem like the Michigan Wolverines will be slowing down anytime soon.

The Michigan football program is now trending to land four-star EDGE Elias Rudolph who is 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, and is ranked as the No. 230 recruit overall in the 2024 class.

It’s interesting because the Michigan Wolverines just made the top five for Randolph who will be taking a visit to Michigan football next month on the weekend of June 9th.

Zach Libby of The Wolverine put in an expert projection for the Wolverines, who were recently included in Randolph’s top five along with Cincinnati, Penn State, Ohio State, and Pittsburgh.

Here’s what Libby wrote via On3.com:

"“Michigan is set to host four-star EDGE Elias Rudolph for an official visit on June 9th,” Libby said. “Heading into next month, it was learned that the Wolverines are a lean for the pass rusher because of what was experienced on his January visit to campus, paired with his high impressions on Michigan’s development and his close relationship with co-defensive coordinator Steve Clinkscale and other U-M defensive coaches. Rudolph’s standing on the board as a key target is due to his ‘freak of nature’ playing ability, intriguing frame, and athleticism.”"

The Buckeyes had a crystal ball projection at one time to land Randolph, but that was in November of 2022. It’s hard to say how hard the Buckeyes are pushing now, but Michigan football has turned the tide in this recruitment and should have a chance to close it out next month.

Michigan football schedule updates for Penn State and Ohio State

The schedule hasn’t changed at all for the Michigan Wolverines next season, but we did learn a couple of kickoff times.

Michigan football and Ohio State will play on Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff once again next season, while the game against Penn State is probably headed for the same fate.

At the very least, we know Michigan won’t have to play a night game at Penn State. Ohio State and Michigan State have a night game scheduled for that weekend, so one would think that Fox or CBS would take it for the afternoon or the Big Noon Kickoff.

Either way, it’s good news for the Michigan Wolverines.
