11. Benny Friedman, quarterback

Benny Friedman was a two-time All-American quarterback for Michigan football and did a little bit of everything from 1924-1926.

Friedman played offense and defense, while also handling kicking duties and returns for the Wolverines. In the NFL, he was a quarterback and he changed the game.

During his eight NFL seasons, Friedman was a First-Team All-Pro selection four times and also led the NFL in passing yards four times too. The former Michigan quarterback won two NFL titles and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2005.

While his NFL stats don’t jump off the page, he played in the 1920s and 1930s, so the fact that he accounted for 66 touchdown passes and 18 touchdown runs is impressive, and so was his overall impact on the game.
