Michigan football has been rolling on the recruiting trail and the Wolverines are now in a position to land an elite cornerback. That and more on 2024.

The past few months have been a really fun time to be a fan of Michigan football, especially if you are an avid follower of recruiting, because it’s been good news after good news.

Finally, Michigan football is starting to recruit like a program that won the past two Big Ten championships and reached the College Football Playoff.

The Wolverines have the No. 1 recruiting class right now according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. Michigan football is also expected to land another commitment on Sunday from three-star wide receiver Channing Goodwin.

Goodwin is a Michigan football legacy. He’s also the teammate of five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis, so all signs point to a Wolverines commitment.

Recruiting momentum is a real thing and Michigan football has it right now. Goodwin is trending to the Wolverines ahead of his announcement and Cole Sullivan, a three-star linebacker from Pennslyvania, has also started to trend with expert projections to U-M.

Latest on top-100 cornerback Aaron Scott

Michigan football has already scored one big recruiting victory in the state of Ohio in the 2024 class as four-star running back Jordan Marshall pledged to the Wolverines over the Buckeyes.

Now, Michigan has its sights set on landing another top talent in Ohio in the 2024 class and that’s four-star cornerback Aaron Scott.

Scott is 6-foot-1, 170 pounds, and is ranked as the seventh-best cornerback in the 2024 class. He’s also second in the state of Ohio and 60th overall.

Michigan has been making a strong push and according to a recent report from Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider, the Wolverines might be sitting in the pole position. Webb breaks down why he sees Michigan as the leader.

There is still a long way to go. Being the leader doesn’t mean a commitment. But Steve Clinkscale’s work in Ohio is starting to pay off. Beating the Buckeyes two straight times did too, plus that re-investment in the 2023 cycle.

Michigan football recruiting in Ohio is trending up and if the Wolverines were able to pull Scott out of Ohio, in addition to Marshall, it would be another sign that OSU’s recruiting dominance isn’t quite what it used to be.
