One of the top Michigan football recruiting targets in the 2024 class, Channing Goodwin, is set to announce his commitment on Sunday, which is good news for the Wolverines.

The positive momentum continues to build for Michigan football on the recruiting trail as four-star wide receiver Channing Goodwin, a long-time Michigan lean, is set to announce his commitment live on the 247 Sports YouTube Channel this Sunday.

Currently, Michigan football is currently the crystal ball leader and has received five projections from 247 Sports to land Goodwin, who is ranked 508th overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, although he’s No. 241 by 247 Sports own rankings.

Goodwin is also a Michigan football legacy. His father, Jonathan Goodwin is a former Michigan football offensive lineman and NFL player. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound wideout is also a Providence Day teammate of five-star quarterback commitment Jadyn Davis.

So there are plenty of reasons for Michigan football to feel good about. North Carolina, North Carolina State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest are the other contenders but this feels like it’s a slam dunk for the Wolverines.

More crystal ball momentum for Michigan football

In addition to possibly getting their 16th commitment in the 2024 class this month, the Wolverines have also been projected to land more 2024 recruits this week.

Michigan football is still the crystal ball leader with a number of top targets but Pennslyvania linebacker Cole Sullivan, a three-star ranked in the top 600 at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, just picked up a crystal ball from Steve Wiltfong of 247 sports.

Jacob Smith, the brother of recent pledge Jerod Smith and a four-star EDGE, was also projected by EJ Holland of The Wolverine to land with Michigan football this week. The Wolverines have also taken over as the leader in the On3 prediction machine for top-100 EDGE Marquise Lightfoot.

Even Justin Scott, the five-star defensive tackle who is probably the top target left on the board for Michigan football, is saying really favorable things about the Wolverines. He’s also going to take an official visit this summer.
