DJ Pickett

Located in Tampa, Florida, DJ Pickett is ranked as the #6 recruit in the country, and the #1 safety overall. According to ON3’s EJ Holland, Pickett currently has a top 2 of Michigan and Georgia, with Michigan football as the perceived leader.

What’s even more impressive about that statement is that Pickett has visited Georgia twice in the past month and a half, while the last time he visited Michigan was for the Penn State game last October. Obviously, the Wolverines will have to keep getting Pickett back on campus, but the fact that the Wolverines still hold a lead after Georgia has thrown everything at Pickett is telling.

Pickett has family in Michigan, which is a contributing factor to his love for Michigan. The staff is working on getting him back on campus soon, but the Wolverines are in a great spot early on.

Steve Clinkscale has been putting in work in the state of Florida. The star recruiter already has elite cornerback Chris Ewald Jr. committed, and he’s put the Wolverines in a great position with the #1 safety in the country. Wolverines fans should feel in great hands with Clinkscale running this recruitment.

Ewald’s contributions cannot be overlooked either. The four-star has been an extremely active recruiter for Michigan football ever since he committed unexpectedly in December.

We’ve already seen the impact he’s having with 2024 recruit Zaquan Patterson, and Ewald is going hard after Pickett. He’d be a massive land for the Wolverines and could instantly compete for a starting spot, whether that be at safety or cornerback.
