Michigan football fans were expecting to land three-star offensive lineman Jake Guarnera on Friday but that might not be happening now.

All signs were pointing to a commitment for Michigan football on Friday from three-star offensive lineman Jake Guarnera. However, it now looks like another Big Ten school could be landing the top-500 prospect out of Ponte Vedra, Florida.

Guarnera who is 6-foot-4, 290 pounds, recently announced a commitment date for April 28th and soon after that, Michigan football started trending with expert projections.

There were crystal ball projections, expert predictions from On3, and also futurecast predictions from Rivals all pointed to Michigan football being the favorite.

The Wolverines landed commitments this week from four-star tight end Brady Prieskorn and also Jerod Smith, but at least for a time, the commitment was in doubt Guarnera as Josh Henschke has flipped his prediction from Michigan football to Penn State.

At least for about 15 minutes.

Is Michigan football going to be disappointed on Friday?

This is just one prediction but Henschke tends to be pretty plugged in and I’m certain he wouldn’t change his pick without solid intel.

It was of surprising because it seemed like a done deal, however, in recruiting, it’s never over until it’s over. Michigan football doesn’t have any shortage of options or commitments when it comes to offensive line pursuits.

There are other potential options at the center such as Waltclaire Flynn Jr., who seems to be the preferred target of five-star QB commitment Jadyn Davis.

Other experts didn’t follow the same path and project the Nittany Lions to add Guarnera to their 2024 class, and that was a good call because Henschke changed pick his back to Michigan.

Update: Henschke posted a tweet that said, “Explaining the wildest 15 minutes of my career where a Futurecast was taken off Michigan, placed elsewhere, and put back in favor of U-M.”

Sounds like good news should be coming on Friday after all.
