3. Trezelle Jenkins (31st overall by the Chiefs in 1995)

One name that has to be on a list of Michigan football draft busts is offensive tackle Trezelle Jenkins, who was picked in the first round by Kansas City back in 1995.

That was right around when Wheatley and Biakabutuka were doing their thing for the Wolverines, who had one of the best running games in college football at the time.

Not only that, Michigan football routinely sent quality offensive linemen to the NFL. That probably made the Chiefs feel good about the pick, along with the fact that Jenkins was 6-foot-7, 317 pounds.

Unfortunately, things just didn’t work out in the NFL. Jenkins dressed out for just nine games and only started one. He was out in Kansas City after the 1997 season and didn’t play pro football again. He was on the Saints’ practice squad for a while and was even drafted by the XFL.

Offensive tackles are generally viewed as safe picks. Yet, Jenkins was the ultimate bust and was even ranked by Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports as the No. 31 worst NFL draft pick of all time.
