9. Bennie Joppru (41st overall in 2002 by Texans)

There aren’t as many NFL draft busts as you’d think for the Wolverines even if every Michigan football player hasn’t lived up to the hype. Taco Charlton was a consideration but he’s still in the league and has 11-career sacks.

Bennie Jopru is an interesting name because after 579 yards receiving and 53 receptions as a senior, as well as 79 receptions in college, he was taken in the second round, 41st overall by the Houstan Texans.

That’s not quite a first-round pick but it’s close and Joppru did nothing to love up to that draft status. In his short-lived NFL career, the former Michigan football standout didn’t register a single reception.

Joppru also played in just 19 career games and spent most of his time on special teams, which is why he makes our list because he went into the league with high expectations.
