DL: Ted Hammond (Committed), Manuel Biegel (Committed), Jerod Smith, Darien Mayo, Brian Robinson

The defensive line is definitely one of the most uncertain areas. Recently, a plethora of predictions were put in for Jerod Smith to commit to Michigan. This came out of seemingly nowhere, as Notre Dame was the perceived leader for the majority of his recruitment. Smith is looking to make a decision soon, and it seems like Michigan has lots of momentum in his recruitment.

Ted Hammond was another steal out of Ohio. The four-star lineman is a very solid player who is another example of the recruits Michigan football can steal from Ohio when they win The Game.

Manuel Biegel is a player the Wolverines will have to fight to hold onto, as the European prospect has picked up offers from Penn State and Georgia recently. He has an extremely high ceiling and could turn into a high-draft pick one day. I think the Wolverines hold onto him.

Darien Mayo is a player who has visited Michigan and has had lots of positive things to say. He has had a relatively quiet recruitment, but I definitely think the Wolverines can land him if they get him back on campus.

Lastly, Brian Robinson. Robinson has been considered a heavy Michigan football lean forever, but Kentucky has recently picked up a lot of momentum. I’m not sure if the staff has cooled on him or what, but he is a great player. I think the Wolverines will end up winning his commitment, but it is definitely far from certain. Look out for Robinson waiting himself out of a spot.
