A new expert projection for Michigan Football in 2024
Michigan football picked up an expert projection for the 2024 recruiting class for four-star EDGE Dominic Nichols.
The Michigan football program has a ton of momentum on the recruiting trail right now in the 2024 class and it’s now showing any signs of slowing down.
As of right now, the Wolverines have the No. 3 recruiting class in 2024 according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. Ohio State has been surging and took over the No. 1 spot after Georgia’s five-star tight end commitment, Landen Thomas, flipped to Florida State.
Still, things are going about as well as Michigan football fans could have hoped this cycle. Last year, the Wolverines had a top-20 class, but not the kind of recruiting class you’d expect from a two-time Big Ten champion and playoff participant.
Recently, Michigan started trending with expert projections for another offensive lineman in three-star Jake Guarnera who is a center prospect and ranked 510th overall in the composite rankings.
Guarnera is expected to announce his commitment on April 28th. So another pledge is likely coming and on Wednesday, there was another good sign for the 2024 class.
Another new expert projection for the 2024 class
Michigan has been making a strong push in Maryland in recent years and 6-foot-5, 240-pound EDGE Dominic Nichols is one of the recruits on the radar from the DMV in the 2024 class.
Nichols recently took an unofficial visit to Michigan football and according to EJ Holland, the Wolverines took the lead in his recruitment. Holland felt confident enough in the development to put in a crystal ball projection Nichols, a 4-star ranked 361st via the On3 industry rankings.
Penn State still leads according to the On3 prediction machine and the Nittany Lions have been viewed as the favorite. Yet, it sounds like Michigan is set to get an official visit and if you were an edge rusher, the Wolverines are a great place to be.
Nichols is going to take official visits, so don’t expect a commitment anytime soon, but the Wolverines are trending way up in another positive for the 2024 class.
