Michigan Football: Latest 2025 QB recruiting updates for Wolverines
Michigan football has a five-star QB in 2024, so here’s the latest on 2025 as the Wolverines are making inroads with a number of elite quarterbacks.
When five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis committed to Michigan football last month, it allowed Wolverines fans to breathe a sigh of relief.
The commitment meant that Michigan football finally had its quarterback of the future — the guy next in line to take over for J.J. McCarthy.
It’s too early to tell if Davis will be ready to start next season as a freshman. We also don’t know if McCarthy will declare for the draft after this season, although that’s always been my bet.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he stuck around though, especially if he wasn’t projected as a first-round pick. At any rate, Michigan football can shift its focus to the 2025 class at quarterback and the Wolverines are in the mix with quite a few names. Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 QB in 2025 is one of them.
He’s out of Belleville and has a ton of offers. Underwood is legit and Ohio State is hosting him for his next unofficial visit, followed by LSU. The Wolverines have also had him on campus multiple times this spring, but it’s going to be a battle.
Michigan football “makes impression” on 2025 No. 2 QB
The good news is that Michigan football isn’t putting all its eggs in the basket of Underwood. The Wolverines did that with Dante Moore in 2023 and did sort of the same thing with Jadyn Davis in the 2024 class.
In 2025, a bunch of quarterbacks are on the board and another is George MacIntyre, a 6-foot-5, 182-pound quarterback out of Brentwood, Tennessee. He’s ranked 17th overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings and second among QBs.
MacIntyre has been to Tennessee a number of times but he told Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports that his Michigan visit was “really good.” He was also toured around by Denard Robinson.
The No. 2 QB in 2025 said he won’t take any other visits this spring, so it sounds like he’s a long way from making a decision, just like Underwood, but at least Michigan football is getting some of the best quarterbacks on campus in 2025.
There’s a good chance it will lead to a positive result.
