Michigan Wolverines news: Miami trying to flip a 2024 commitment, a first-round mock, and more
In our latest Michigan Wolverines news roundup, a Michigan football commitment just visited Miami, DJ Turner goes in round one, and more.
The 2024 recruiting class for Michigan football is off to a tremendous start. The Wolverines are ranked second now in the team rankings via 247 Sports and they have plenty of momentum.
Another 2024 offensive lineman started trending with projections to Michigan football this week and it looks the Wolverines will have their center commitment by the end of the month.
However, Miami is trying to flip one of Michigan football’s 2024 commitments and that’s four-star tight end Hogan Hansen.
Hansen committed back in December to Michigan football and is 6-foot-6, 220 pounds out of the state of Washington. He’s ranked as the No. 10 tight end in the 2024 class and 186th overall. He also recently visited Miami and the Hurricanes are doing their best to flip his pledge.
Michigan Wolverines’ DJ Turner projected in the first round
Former Michigan football cornerback DJ Turner continues his rise up NFL draft boards and according to ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper Jr.’s latest mock draft, Turner is going to go in the first round.
Kiper has Turner going 25th overall to the New York Giants. Turner was outstanding last season for Michigan football as a cornerback and earned All-Big Ten honors. The 6-foot corner started the past two seasons and notched 17 passes defended, as well as three interceptions.
Mazi Smith has also been projected in some mock drafts as a first-round pick and it seems there is a very real possibility that two Michigan Wolverines are picked on the first night of the NFL draft.
