Michigan football is poised to add another 2024 offensive lineman to its recruiting class as Jake Guarnera is trending and has a decision date set.

It doesn’t seem like Michigan football fans will have to wait long for the next 2024 commitment to come down the pike as three-star offensive lineman Jake Guarnera seems to be the next domino.

The three-star offensive lineman released his top five and on Tuesday morning announced that he will be making his commitment known on April 28th according to what he told Adam Friedman of Rivals. The other teams in the mix are Penn State, NC State, Rutgers, and Florida.

Michigan football is trending as the favorite

However, prior to this announcement of a commitment date, Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports, put in the first crystal ball projection for Guarnera and it was for Michigan football.

Now, Zach Libby of The Wolverine has followed with an expert projection and the On3 prediction machine now gives the Wolverines an 84-percent chance to win the commitment of the interior offensive lineman.

EJ Holland of The Wolverine also has his expert projection for Guarnera to land with Michigan football. April 28th is still a few weeks away, but this one seems solid for U-M.

In terms of the rankings, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings for the 2024 class, Guarnera is ranked No. 551 overall and 31st among interior offensive linemen. He’s out of Ponte Vedra, Florida, and is the No. 80 prospect in the Sunshine State.

According to On3, Guarnera is 6-foot-4, 285 pounds, and is a guy many programs view as a starting center. That’s likely the evaluation from the Wolverines too.

The three-star offensive lineman took a visit to Michigan football last month and that was on the heels of two trips in 2022. He does have an official visit scheduled for Florida in the month of June. Yet, he will announce his commitment before then, and right now, Michigan is the clear favorite.
