Breaking down Michigan’s offensive depth chart after spring
By Chad Fisher
Final summary
Overall, Michigan football returns a ton of production from one of the best three teams in the country last season. According to Pro Football Focus, the Wolverines return 84% of their offensive production from 2022, which ranks in the top 10 of college football.
The Wolverines also have a favorable schedule with no legit threats in their nonconference slate and they’ll face the Buckeyes in Ann Arbor.
They’ll encounter a tough road test when they travel to Happy Valley to take on a preseason top-10 Penn State outfit, but Michigan should still be favored in that game.
They also face rival Michigan State on the road in East Lansing. If the Wolverines go unscathed through those road tests or just lose one game, they’ll be set up for another showdown against the Buckeyes with a likely Big Ten Championship and College Football Playoff berth on the line.
With the production and talent Michigan football has returning it seems likely that another Ohio State beatdown is on the horizon. This one is much worse than the last two. The Wolverines will have their best chance at a national championship in decades. If they stay healthy, there’s no reason to think they can’t win it all.
