Michigan Football: Jadyn Davis finally has a decision date
Michigan football fans have been waiting for an announcement from Jadyn Davis and it’s coming according to one reporter for the Charlotte Observer.
It looks like we will know if the Michigan football team has done enough to win the commitment of five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis very soon.
There was talk that Davis, the No. 16 overall prospect in the 2024 recruiting class according to the 247 sports composite rankings was going to decide before the end of the month, and according to Charlotte Observer’s Langston Wertz Jr., the quarterback is going to announce his top five on Friday, followed by a commitment announcement on March 31.
We can’t verify these reports, but I have no reason to question it and if this winds up being true, it’s spectacular news for the Michigan football program.
Why the timing is so good for Michigan football
Davis has taken a bunch of visits to Michigan football and was just on campus this past weekend, which gave him a chance to spend time with new quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell.
The five-star quarterback was pretty close with Matt Weiss and really appreciated his football acumen, but Campbell has proven to be a star so far on the trail, making a positive impact with Davis and 2025 No. 1 QB Bryce Underwood.
Coming out of the visit this past weekend, there was more positive buzz for the Wolverines as Sam Webb of the Michigan Insider increased the confidence of his crystal ball. Brich Marich, another reporter for the Michigan Insider, joined others with his own crystal ball projection of Davis to Michigan football.
The fact that the Wolverines landed four-star running back Jordan Marshall earlier this week certainly had to help, especially after Marshall took a photo with Davis on campus last week.
If Davis wants, they will get a chance to play together. It’s significant also that Davis is ready to make a decision without taking more visits, which is telling.
You never say never in recruiting, because anything can happen, but Michigan football should feel very good about where it stands and unless something changes drastically, it feels like the Wolverines are poised to land the five-star’s commitment…finally.
