Michigan football is heating up with five-star QB Jadyn Davis in 2024, but the Wolverines are also in a good spot with Bryce Underwood in 2025 too.

There have been some elite quarterback recruits to come out of the state of Michigan in recent years and the next one is Bryce Underwood.

Underwood, who is out of Belleville, is the No. 1 ranked player in the state. He’s also the No. 1 rated quarterback and No. 3 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class according to the 247 sports composite rankings.

At 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, Underwood is physically mature and has been super productive at the high school level. He’s only a junior and his recruitment has already gone national but Michigan football is in a good spot, especially after a recent visit.

New Michigan football quarterbacks coach Kirk Campbell really impressed Underwood, who told Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider, Campbell made a “night and day” difference during a recent visit he had to the Wolverines.

It certainly seems that was true, because Underwood, is expected back on a visit to Michigan football on Tuesday.

Updating the recruitment of Bryce Underwood

According to the On3 prediction machine, Michigan football is the current leader for the five-star signal-caller who is already a two-time state champion.

The Wolverines have a 31-percent chance to land Underwood according to the prediction machine, with Michigan State in second at 27 percent. The Spartans, like the Wolverines, have hosted Underwood on campus for five visits.

This will be the sixth visit for Underwood to Michigan football. The Spartans do have former Belleville head coach Jermain Crowell on staff, which was thought to be an advantage.

However, the current Belleville head coach, DeJuan Rogers, just posted a photo with Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh on Monday, showing that the ties between Belleville and U-M are getting stronger as there was reported tension between Harbaugh and Crowell.

Some people wondered if that would hurt the Wolverines in the recruitment of Underwood. So far, it doesn’t seem like it and Michigan football is in as good a position as anyone at this stage in the recruitment.
