Michigan will upset Purdue

There has been a lot of frustration directed at Juwan Howard this season and there’s no doubt, the execution at the end of games needs to be better.

However, if we look back at his Michigan basketball career, the Wolverines have always found a way to notch an elite win or two every year of his tenure. They beat North Carolina and Gonzaga in year one.

There was the top-5 win over Ohio State and a win over a highly-ranked Ohio State team on the road last season, as well as a win over No. 3 Purdue.

Howard’s teams have maybe underachieved at some points, but they have also been young in an era of old teams due to COVID and the transfer portal.

At any rate, Michigan has played well enough to score a signature win this season, the Wolverines have just missed it such as last week in losses to Illinois and Indiana, or Virginia. This team is due.

As I said, I think Dickinson is going to be at his best and on top of that, Kobe Bufkin and Dug McDaniel have really taken a step forward near the end of the season.

Next. Michigan's improbably path to the NCAA Tournament. dark

Juwan has coached Michigan basketball to a pair of Sweet 16 appearances and this year, I’m going to say that magic translates to Chicago as they get the win they need to make March Madness. My final guess is that Michigan drops a close game in the semifinals but gets a bid.
