3 keys for Michigan Basketball and a prediction vs Indiana
Michigan basketball needs a win Sunday at Indiana and here are three keys for the Wolverines as well as a prediction.
It’s been a couple of days since the debacle against Illinois for Michigan basketball. The Wolverines are 11-8 in the Big Ten, 17-13 overall, and facing a must-win situation.
Michigan basketball is one of the last teams out according to Joe Lunardi of ESPN and the Wolveirnes blew a massive opportunity Thursday at Illinois. Michigan was leading by seven points with two minutes to go in overtime and lost.
It also wasn’t the first time this season as Michigan has lost a number of games where it had a high probability of winning. At any rate, the Wolverines need to win at least two more games to make the tournament.
A win against Indiana will also give Michigan a good chance to get a double-bye in the Big Ten tournament. If not, the Wolverines could fall to No. 8. If the Wolverines don’t win Sunday, they likely will need to reach the Big Ten championship game to reach the tournament or win it.
So, the Wolverines need to take care of business. Here are three keys and a prediction.
Win the battle inside
Hunter Dickinson and Trayce Jackson-Davis are going head-to-head another time and in the last two matchups, the Indiana big man has gotten the better of Dickinson.
The Wolverines held Jackson-Davis below 50 percent in the last matchup but he bit a bunch of shots late and Michigan went over five minutes scoreless to end the game.
Dickinson was incredible against Illinois. He did miss some crucial free throws, but outside of that, it was a legendary performance. Too bad it came in a loss.
On Sunday, he needs another epic game. We’ve seen him carry Michigan basketball in similar instances before and it needs to happen if Michigan is going to win in Assembly Hall.
