3. The Wolverines are still in the mix for a double-bye in the BTT

With two very dicey road games left, Michigan is in a tie for the top four of the Big Ten. They travel to Illinois Thursday night, which just lost to Ohio State in Columbus. Then they go to Indiana next Sunday for a throwdown with the Hoosiers. Michigan has to win both to earn the double-bye in the United Center.

Illinois has had Michigan’s number as of late, but both teams may be heading in opposite directions. Juwan Howard hasn’t beaten Brad Underwood yet and the Wolverines haven’t won in Champagne since 2019. Michigan advanced to 16-0 on that day and started a perfect 17-0 to begin that season. They’ll look to add another quad one win to their blooming resume.

Michigan will enter a rowdy environment as the underdogs come in with a three-game winning streak. Terrance Shannon, who nearly committed to Howard and the Wolverines will get his first taste of this rivalry.
