Role players have to show up

Dug McDaniel is going to be a really good Big Ten point guard, but it’s still a learning process and he had a rough game against Indiana (1-for-8). He only had one turnover but it was a costly one. Terrance Williams had four turnovers and shot the ball terribly.

Joey Baker went from averaging 11 points per game during Michigan’s three-game winning streak to scoring three points in 16 minutes. The rest of the team scored 19 points, while Bufkin, Dickinson, and Howard scored 42.

Essentially, both groups need to be better. Dickinson is probably going to get doubled and the Wolverines have to make Wisconsin pay. Howard, Baker, Bufkin, Williams, and even McDaniel need to make shots.

In my eyes, the Wolverines need about 50 from the big three and at least 20 from everyone else. That should be more than enough to win this game. However, the late-game execution has been a huge issue and if it’s a one-score game at the end, it’s hard to have any confidence.

Michigan basketball vs Wisconsin prediction

I expected Michigan to win Saturday and they let me down. It’s been really hard to predict this team and this game is a must-win by both squads as each has just 14 wins.

At the end of the day though, Michigan is the better team in my opinion and the Wolverines bounce back with another key road win, 72-66.
