Defense, defense, defense

A key stat in this game is going to be 2-point percentage defense. When Michigan basketball won the Big Ten two years ago, it did it by dominating with its 2-point defense.

Michigan is fourth in 2-point field-goal percentage, while Indiana is fifth. The Hoosiers are second in 2-point defense compared to Michigan which is sixth.

According to UMHoops.com, Indiana is 5-7 this season when shooting less than 55 percent from inside the arc. Indiana is also 13-2 when it holds opponents under 50 percent on 2-pointers.

However, keeping a Michigan team under 50 percent is doing to be difficult. At the end of the day, the Wolverines need to score the ball, but their defense needs to translate from the past three games.

Michigan basketball vs Indiana prediction

This feels like a toss-up but Michigan is a three-point favorite going into Saturday’s game according to DraftKings and that tracks.

The Maize Rage is going to be frenzied and listening to the Wolverines, they know what’s at stake on Saturday. Indiana will have urgency no doubt, but their backs aren’t up against the wall like Michigan basketball, which beats the Hoosiers 73-65.
