Production from the guards

While Hunter Dickinson has picked up his urgency level in the past few games, especially on the defensive end of the floor, Michigan’s surge in the past few games has to do with point guard Dug McDaniel, Kobe Bufkin, Jett Howard, and also Joey Baker.

Baker has been exceptional during the three-game winning streak and has averaged 11 points per game. He’s shooting exceptionally well and has been stellar on the defensive end.

Kobe Bufkin has really emerged too. In the past three games, he’s averaging 13.6 points per game, six assists per game, and also nine rebounds. The former McDonald’s All-American has become one of the best two-way players in the Big Ten.

McDaniel has also come on late and when Jett Howard is also knocking down shots, this team is really tough to beat. Michigan needs Dickinson to play well. But the struggles this season have mostly had to do with guard play and in the past few games, the guards have been outstanding.
