3. Stay sharp

This is pretty simple. But if Michigan basketball is focused, plays hard on defense, and doesn’t overlook Nebraska, I don’t see how the Wolverines lose this game.

The problem is that this team has routinely overlooked opponents. The loss to Central Michigan still haunts the NCAA tournament resume and the Wolverines can’t afford that on Wednesday.

A bad loss could really sink this team. Nebraska is right around the top 100, despite their record, because the Huskers are a solid team. It’s a winnable game for them, especially if Michigan isn’t as sharp as it has been in the past two games.

I want to see Hunter Dickinson as focused tonight as he was the last two games. When you have Hunter, Kobe Bufkin, Jett Howard and even Joey Baker off the bench playing well, this team is tough to beat. It has three NBA players on the roster and a slew of other top-100 talents.

Michigan basketball vs Nebraska prediciton

Nebraska is a hard-nosed team. The Huskers are going to compete and Sam Griesel, the point guard, is going to be a tough matchup for Dug McDaniel. Griesel is a bigger guard and loves to post up. That’s something Michigan will need to account for.

Walker is a solid matchup inside for Dickinson but Michigan basketball is just a better team. Nebraska is going to struggle to guard Bufkin and Jett Howard and as long as the Wolverines can keep shooting the ball well from deep, they should win this game by double digits.
