3. Michigan basketball shot a pitiful 2-14 from the three point line

Dug McDaniel was the only Wolverine to can the two trays in the four-point victory. It may have turned out to be the difference as they snuck by the Gophers with those two extra possessions.

With Jett Howard in the lineup, there is no doubt that Michigan basketball would have made some more 3-pointers, but that’s not how it played out on Sunday.

Kobe Bufkin alone was 0-4 from deep. It was one of Michigan’s worst performances from beyond the arc, but they pulled it out.

Luckily Minnesota is at the bottom of the league, so Michigan would have had to hit more if they were playing against a better club. This execution will not cut it as they prepare for the meat of their schedule which is now here.

Having Howard unavailable will make things harder, but if he can play then maybe the maize and blue have a chance to right some wrongs from earlier in the slate.
