Keep Iowa in the 70s

Holding Michigan State to 59 points on the road is a job well done. That’s what Michigan basketball did on Saturday but failed to win thanks to a terrible effort offensively.

The Spartans don’t have anyone quite like Kris Murray who is averaging over 21 points per game and is a dangerous shooter. Terrance Williams is going to have his hands full and I don’t love that matchup for the Wolverines.

Outside of Murray, Michigan will need to pay close attention to Connor McCaffrey and Payton Sandfort, who both average over 1.2 3-point field goals per game. Murray makes 2.4.

Rebraca also averages over 14 points a game and scores a lot on post-ups, but Dickinson as long as he can avoid foul trouble, should be able to win that matchup.

Transition defense is going to be important. The Wolverines were pretty solid in that aspect against Michigan State. Communication will be huge too as Iowa does a lot of screens and cuts.

It’s going to be a huge test but honestly, if Michigan basketball can just keep Iowa in the 70-point range, it should have a shot to win this game.
