3. Michigan’s effort has to be replicated in the Big Ten slate

If the maize and blue have any hope for the postseason then they’ll have to perform as they did on this new year’s night.

The defense was stifling, and Dickinson could use some help, but Michigan basketball has to gladly take this win after what happened last week. They can use this as a turning point in the season, but that’s wishful thinking.

Michigan currently stands in a tie for first place at 2-0 in the conference with Purdue, Ohio State, and Wisconsin. It relieves the feeling of failure from the football program, just a smidge after what they put us through on new year’s eve in Glendale.

Getting more aid for Dickinson will be what this group needs to win on the road in the Big Ten though.

Maryland is a quality win for them, but who knows how long it will last so they will have to do their damage when they get the likes of Purdue, Indiana, and Wisconsin at home.

Next. Gut reaction to win over Maryland. dark

Penn State comes in on Wednesday riding a five-game winning streak. That won’t be a gimme for Michigan unless they execute like they did Sunday in Ann Arbor.
