In our latest Michigan Wolverines news roundup, the Michigan football team has arrived in Arizona, the women’s basketball team moves up in the AP poll, and more.

You can feel the excitement of Michigan football fans and the nervousness as the Wolverines get ready for the Fiesta Bowl and the College Football Playoff.

The second-ranked Michigan Wolverines will take on third-ranked TCU Saturday (4 PM EST) for a shot to play for the national championship.

For a game that seemed so far away a couple of weeks ago, it’s just a few days away now. Michigan football traveled to Arizona on Monday to start its final week of preparation.

It’s game week folks and we’ll have plenty of coverage this week as we lead up to Michigan football and TCU in the Fiesta Bowl.

A Michigan football transfer destination revealed

Former four-star tight end Louis Hansen, who entered the transfer portal this offseason has landed at UConn, which seems like a really good fit.

Hansen dealt with some injuries this past season but was moving up on the depth chart prior to that and seemed like a contender to earn playing time after spring ball.

However, the emergence of Colston Loveland made things more crowded at the top. Now, Hansen, who is from Massachusetts can play closer to home, going from one former NFL head coach to another in Jim Mora Jr., which has the Huskies trending up after a bowl appearance this season.

Michigan women’s basketball moves up in AP poll

It’s a big week for the Michigan women’s basketball team. The Wolverines start Big Ten play for real after playing one game so far and they are 11-1 overall.

After knocking off sixth-ranked North Carolina last week, Michigan moved up to 14th in the latest AP poll which is solid but still curious that the Tar Heels are ranked one spot ahead.

The Wolverines won the game by eight points and controlled it throughout. But polls don’t mean anything. The one poll that matters to Michigan is the Big Ten standings.

The Wolverines are 1-0 right now and will travel to a solid Nebraska team on Wednesday (7 PM EST, BTN) before a huge showdown on Saturday in Columbus against third-ranked Ohio State.

Don’t worry, the women’s game tips at 1 PM EST, so it would give Michigan football fans something to do while they’re nervously waiting for the Fiesta Bowl.
