I wrote about how Jim Harbaugh needs a new contract that makes him one of the highest-paid coaches in the Big Ten. It just needs to happen.
But just as urgent is making sure to reward the assistant coaches that have been so instrumental in this turnaround. Sherrone Moore should be making over a million dollars at this point. The same can be said about Jesse Minter and Steve Clinkscale.
These guys need raises and Michigan football needs to pony up. Harbaugh is first and he should get taken care of but you can bet he wants his assistants to get new deals as much or more than his own.
Matt Weiss would be another candidate. George Helow and Mike Hart too. From top to bottom, Michigan football has one of the best collections of assistant coaches and just like NIL, if the Wolverines want to keep winning, they need to start paying these guys like they are elite.
No one has a base salary of a million dollars yet and that needs to change this offseason, just like making Harbaugh one of the highest-paid coaches in the country needs to happen.
