The Michigan football team handed out its own team awards on Sunday night, plus we catch you on all the Michigan Wolverines news from the weekend.

It was a busy weekend for the Michigan Wolverines, especially when it comes to Michigan football recruiting as the Wolverines landed a trio of transfer portal commitments.

On Saturday, former Stanford offensive lineman Myles Hinton was the latest to join Michigan football from the transfer portal.

The former top-100 recruit who is ranked No. 41 in the 2023 transfer portal rankings according to 247 sports, announced his commitment over the weekend and is expected to come in and compete for a job at right tackle, where he has started the past two seasons for Stanford.

However, the Michigan Wolverines weren’t close to being done in the transfer portal as Josaiah Stewart, an EDGE from Coastal Carolina also committed on Sunday, as did former Stanford center Drake Nugent, who is ranked third among interior offensive linemen in the transfer portal.

The Michigan Wolverines also added a 2023 recruit to the mix on Sunday as three-star DJ Waller out of Youngstown, Ohio committed, giving Michigan football 20 verbal commitments now in the 2023 recruiting class with Early Signing Day approaching on Wednesday.

Beyond that, Michigan football landed a four-star commitment from a top-100 cornerback on Friday in Chis Ewald. Yes, it’s early to take a commitment in 2025, but Ewald is tight with Steve Clinkscale and Denard Robinson, so I feel good about this one for U-M.
