Defense is a concern

Lipscomb runs a different offense than most teams. The Bisons use a lot of Princeton-style stuff and torched the Wolverines with back-door cuts.

Michigan held their leading scorer to just four points but the Bisons made nine 3-pointers and got to the free throw line 11 times and made 10.

Michigan is going to be limited defensively. That’s just the way that the personnel works out. Hunter Dickinson struggles in ball screens. Terrance Williams is an average defender at best.

Jett Howard, Kobe Bufkin, and Dug McDaniel are all young players still and make some mistakes. There was a glaring lack of discipline on the defensive side of the ball and just too many lapses that can’t happen against a veteran team.

Most of those errors can be fixed but this defense just isn’t good enough to get away with surrendering easy baskets and Lipscomb had far too many open shots/layups.
